Latest Postseason Projection for Clemson Baseball

Less than two weeks ago, the Clemson baseball team was coming off a series loss to Duke, its third consecutive series loss, and the Tigers’ postseason destination was up in the air.

After dropping two out of three at home to the Blue Devils, Erik Bakich’s team was projected to go on the road for regional play. Now, after a five-game winning streak, which includes a three-game sweep of Pitt on the road, and ACC Tournament wins over Virginia Tech and NC State, Clemson looks primed to host postseason baseball at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

In the latest D1 projections, the publication slots the Tigers as the No. 12 overall seed, pairing Alabama, UConn and Bryant in a Clemson regional.

Baseball America projects the Tigers as the No. 11 overall seed, placing Southern Miss, Kentucky and Rider in a Clemson regional.

Clemson is now 43-15 on the season, and sitting at No. 8 in the RPI coming into Friday.

Next is a matchup against Georgia Tech in the semifinal round of the ACC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets earned the top seed in the tourney after finishing 19-11 in league play. It is the second time in Bakich’s three seasons at the helm that the Tigers have advanced to the semifinals. In 2023, Bakich led Clemson to an ACC Championship in his first season as head coach.

With a win, the Tigers would move on to the ACC Championship, set for noon on Sunday.
