Clemson Picks Up Portal Commitment

The Clemson baseball program has picked up an SEC pitcher from the transfer portal.

Former Alabama pitcher Ariston Veasey announced his commitment to the Tigers on Tuesday. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

A power righthander, Veasey spent two seasons with the Crimson Tide from 2024-25. He pitched 3.2 innings across six total appearances, five of which came in 2025. Over his six career appearances, the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder allowed three hits and four runs with eight walks and six strikeouts. Opponents batted only .231 against him.

Veasey attended Starr’s Mill High School in Fayetteville, Ga., where he was a do-it-all player who helped Starr’s Mill to the AAAAA state semifinals in 2023. He was the third-ranked outfielder and 10th-rated recruit at any position in Georgia by Perfect Game, while he was also listed as PG’s No. 17 outfielder and the No. 87 prospect in the country.

Veasey was invited to the MLB States Play event in Scottsdale, Ariz., during the fall of his senior season to represent Georgia, and he earned a spot in the USA Baseball 16U/17U National Team Development Program.
