CLEMSON — After a busy first session of Dabo Swinney’s high school camp on Friday, there weren’t quite as many players on hand for the evening portion of the practice.
More than 1,300 high school players from 33 different states and Puerto Rico are expected to camp at some point this weekend, and The Clemson Insider will be on hand for all of the action.
While there weren’t as many highly-touted recruits on hand for the evening session, there were some players who caught our eye.
– 2027 four-star DB Jayden Aparicio-Bailey was probably the most impressive player we watched this evening. He is 6-foot-2 with a lot of length, and corners coach Mike Reed was paying plenty of attention to him. Aparicio-Bailey demonstrated excellent footwork and a strong ability to swing his hips. Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Texas and Tennessee are just a few of his offers. Certainly an offer candidate for the Tigers.
– 2027 WR Kenneth Best (Atkins, Winston-Salem) had a solid workout. North Carolina, West Virginia and Penn State have all been showing interest of late, and Best was invited to come and compete at camp this weekend.
– 2028 in-state QB Kendall White also had a good showing. He is still a little undersized, but certainly has the arm strength. His father, Kendrick Wright, is the cousin of the late Adrian Dingle, who played for Clemson in the 1990s.
– Wanted to touch on a couple of other prospects from Raburn Gap that worked out during the afternoon session on Friday. 2027 LB Praise Chane certainly looks the part. Chane looks strong, has a quick burst and is extremely agile moving laterally.
– 2028 LB Jay Schell also stood out. He is already 6-foot-3, looks well over 200 pounds and athletic. He is also quick as a hiccup. Tennessee, Houston, Wake Forest and Texas A&M have each offered this month. His dad, Matt Schell played at Clemson in the late 1990s.
