Top Remaining CB Target Set to Reveal Decision

Clemson’s top remaining cornerback target is set to announce a decision.

Four-star Danny Odem (First Academy, Orlando, FL) is scheduled to announce a commitment on Monday.

Odem has had a busy month taking official visits, kicking off the slate by attending Clemson’s big weekend.

“The culture, just how Clemson grinds,” Odem told The Clemson Insider in a recent interview. “Coach Dabo really just built it up, brick by brick, step by step. I like how they run their organization. Like Clemson only offers certain guys that fit them. They also take care of their people for life after football. They have 20-something previous players on the coaching staff.”

The Tigers do have some help here, seeing as Odem is a high school teammate of current OL commit Chance Barclay.

“He probably recruits me the hardest out of any coach from any school, because I got to see him every day,” Odem also told TCI. “He says Clemson is a very good place. The school we come from, a Christian school, it is a big school of faith. He could see me there, getting stronger with my faith, getting closer to God. Just grinding to accomplish all of my goals.”

Oklahoma, Auburn, Penn State, and Ohio State have all received officials this month as well. His final one went to Nebraska this weekend.

In total, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back has more than 50 offers. Rivals ranks him No. 72 overall and as the 8th-best corner in the class.
