Clemson’s top remaining cornerback target is heading elsewhere.
Four-star Danny Odem (First Baptist Academy, Orlando, FL) announced a commitment to Nebraska on Monday. Odem chose the Cornhuskers over Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State and Oklahoma.
In total, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back has more than 50 offers. Rivals ranks him No. 72 overall and as the 8th-best corner in the class.
Odem picked up his offer during an unofficial visit for the Elite Retreat in March, then returned for the big official weekend in early June.
“The culture (stands out), just how Clemson grinds,” Odem told The Clemson Insider after the visit. “Coach Dabo really just built it up, brick by brick, step by step. I like how they run their organization. Like Clemson only offers certain guys that fit them. They also take care of their people for life after football. They have 20-something previous players on the coaching staff.”
The Tigers already have two cornerbacks committed in the 2026 class in four-star Shavar Young Jr. and three-star Marcell Gipson, but have been looking to take a third player at the position.
Clemson currently has 19 players committed in the current class, which Rivals ranks No. 6 in the country.
