One of Clemson’s incoming transfers had himself a pretty good week in a prestigious summer ball league.
Ty Dalley was named the Cape Cod Player of the Week by Franklin Sports after an eight-hit week playing for the Wareham Gatemen. Of those eight hits, Dalley had a double, a triple and two RBI.
After spending his first three seasons at Mercer, Dalley announced his intentions to transfer to Clemson about three weeks ago. He has 58 career home runs with 188 RBI.
Last season, he hit .280 with 18 homers and 61 runs driven in, both team highs. He also led Mercer in doubles (21) and total bases (144).
He turned in his best season as a sophomore, earning first-team All-So-Con honors after hitting .316 with 21 long balls and 71 RBI. Dalley became one of just nine players in school history to log 70 or more RBI in a season.
Dalley has never hit less than 18 homers in a season and sports a career slugging percentage of .628.
