Clemson has offered just one quarterback in the 2027 class in Peyton Houston, and over the past couple of weeks, the four-star signal caller has shown why the Tigers are all in on him.
Houston (Evangel Christian, Shreveport, LA) recently competed in the Rivals Five-Star Challenge and the Under Armor Future 50 event, displaying a rare talent that has made him one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the class.
During the 7v7 portion of the Rivals event, Houston was 10-of-16 with three touchdown throws. At the Under Armor event, he was even better, hitting on 12-of-14 for 125 yards with three more touchdowns. He did not throw an interception at either event.
Notre Dame, Texas, Southern Cal, Oklahoma, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M are just a few of Houston’s more than 30 offers.
The blue-chip talent first visited Clemson for the rivalry game against South Carolina last November. He returned in March for the Underclass Experience, accompanied by his father. That visit was so enlightening that they got Houston’s mother to travel to campus earlier this month when he worked out at the final session of Dabo Swinney’s high school camp.
Houston told TCI in a recent interview that he plans to return to campus for a game in the fall. He just didn’t know which one yet. He also noted that a decision could come before the end of the year.
“I want to see a couple of games of football, so I was really thinking mid junior football season,” Houston said. “But how it’s looking, it might be a little bit before that. Whenever God tells me the school, that is when I’m going to commit.”
