A Clemson hurler is moving on.
Reshirt junior Casey Tallent announced a comeback bid on Wednesday, revealing he has entered the transfer portal.
The right-handed pitcher has not appeared in a game since the 2023 season due to an arm injury.
Clemson head coach Erik Bakich announced early during the 2025 season that Tallent would be forced to retire from baseball due to the injury and the three subsequent surgeries.
“Unfortunately, he will not be pitching, but he will be in the dugout,” Bakich said in February. “He will be on the road trips. His impact will be in a different way, but he will still make a positive impact on this team.”
Tallent leaves Clemson with a 2-1 career record with one save and a career ERA of 3.65 across 44.1 innings pitched. He had 41 strikeouts to just 22 walks and opponents hit just .253 against him.
