Clemson WR Target Headed Elsewhere

Clemson’s final wide receiver target is headed elsewhere.

Four-star Devin Fitzgerald (Brophy College Prep, AZ) announced a commitment to Notre Dame on Saturday, choosing the Fighting Irish over Clemson, Stanford and UCLA. He becomes the third receiver to commit to Notre Dame in the past few days.

Fitzgerald, who is the son of former NFL standout Larry Fitzgerald, first visited Clemson in the spring, then returned for the big official visit weekend, when he would officially pick up his offer. By then, the Tigers already had three blue-chip wideouts committed in the 2026 class.

However, the staff still took a run at Fitzgerald, and he was the only receiver on hand for the official visit weekend. It’s likely Clemson now sticks with the three they have. Four-stars Naeem Burroughs and Connor Salmin both committed during the Elite Retreat, while four-star Gordon Sellars announced a verbal pledge in May.

As a junior, Fitzgerald hauled in 52 catches for 720 yards with nine touchdown grabs.
