Georgia WR Says Clemson Offer Would Be ‘Dream Come True’

Tristen Ford has been attending Clemson games for as long as he can remember.

The 2027 wideout, out of Greater Atlanta Christian, is the nephew of former Clemson standout Jacoby Ford and has a great appreciation for what Dabo Swinney’s program stands for.

“Even before I can really remember,” Ford told The Clemson Insider. “We kind of just went there, up in the box. He would give us tickets.”

His father is Davy Ford, who used to play at Florida State before playing briefly at the NFL level for the Dallas Cowboys.

Ford was last on campus back in June, working out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. He received a lot of positive feedback, particularly when it came to his speed. Ford has been clocked at 4.47 in the 40-yard dash.

“It went pretty good,” Ford said. “I did pretty solid. They shouted out my speed. They told me they liked what they saw. As usual, there were a few coaching points, like they told me I don’t stack enough, and they wanted me to work on that. Since then, that has been something I work on every day.”

With so much talent in his family, there is no question Ford has the genes, and he can’t wait for the opportunity to show what he can do as he heads into his junior season. Playing behind Gabe Daniels, who is now a freshman at Syracuse, Ford didn’t see much playing time as a sophomore, seeing as Daniels rarely came off the field.

Despite the limited playing time last season, Syracuse, Oregon State, Penn State and Florida have started showing interest as Ford continues to wait on his first Power-4 offer.

On August 30, he plans to return to Clemson when the fourth-ranked Tigers open the season against ninth-ranked LSU, and he is hopeful that at some point, an opportunity to don the Paw might present itself.

“I have pretty much grown up around it,” Ford said. “It would be like a dream come true. Going there since I was young, it just looks like a great program. They win a lot. The people seem cool. Playing in my uncle’s footsteps would be pretty cool.”
