Former Clemson WR Taking Advantage of Opportunity

A former Clemson wideout is impressing in his first taste of NFL action and is taking advantage of his opportunity this preseason.

Beaux Collins, now an undrafted rookie with the New York Giants, has been receiving first-team reps with Giants star receiver Malik Nabers sidelined due to an injury.

Collins missed the Giants’ first preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, but he started at wide receiver in the Giants’ Week 2 preseason game against the New York Jets this past Saturday and was on the receiving end of a highlight-reel play.

On the Giants’ third offensive play of the game, Giants quarterback Russell Wilson heaved the ball deep downfield to Collins, who caught the pass and ran another 26 yards for an 80-yard gain before being tackled just shy of the goal line. The big play set up a touchdown run by running back Devin Singletary two plays later for an early 7-0 lead in the Giants’ eventual 31-12 victory over the Jets.

Collins spent three seasons at Clemson before transferring to Notre Dame for his fourth and final collegiate season in 2024.

After joining the Fighting Irish ahead of the 2024 season, Collins ranked third among Irish players in receptions (41) and was second on the team in receiving yards (490). The graduate student was tied for second on the team with three touchdown catches, including a 13-yard touchdown against Georgia in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2.

In his three seasons at Clemson from 2021-23, Collins recorded 91 receptions for 1,290 yards and 11 touchdowns over 32 games (27 starts).

Collins broke out late in his true freshman season with 31 catches for 407 yards and three touchdowns, joining DeAndre Hopkins (2010), Sammy Watkins (2011), Artavis Scott (2014), Hunter Renfrow (2015), Deon Cain (2015) and Justyn Ross (2018) as the only Clemson freshmen — true or redshirt — in the Dabo Swinney era to post at least 30 receptions and at least 400 receiving yards in their debut season.

After going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and then signing with the Giants, Collins has clearly made a good impression in training camp and the preseason ahead of his first NFL campaign.

“You are getting first-team reps, that means something, at this point in the summer,” ESPN’s Jordan Raanan wrote recently. “Definitely a name I am keeping an eye on.”
