CLEMSON – Clemson has a lot of weapons on offense, and its receiver room is very young.
Despite the imminent departure of Antonio Williams following 2025 season, Clemson will still have strong talent in Tyler Brown, T.J. Moore, and Bryant Wesco, Jr. There is also another talent who joined the fold this year – freshman Juju Preston.
“Juju is a great player,” head coach Dabo Swinney said recently. “This kid is electric. He’s long, he’s fast, he’s explosive, and he’s got elite ball skills.”
A recent graduate of Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Virginia, Preston made his mark on football in the state of Virginia. In his prep career, he became the all-time touchdown leader in the state while earning 3,700 yards and 67 touchdowns on 185 receptions.
Before transferring to Hayfield, he helped Freedom High School go 28-0 across two seasons in 2022 and 2023.
Rated as the 13th best player in Virginia by On3, Preston committed to play for the Clemson Tigers on December 3, 2023, cementing himself to be a part of the Clemson Football program. Now, as a part of a college football team whose offense is projected to be one of the best in 2025, he looks to make his mark.
“He’s a lot like Wesco. We need to put some mayonnaise on him a little bit,” Swinney said. “We need to get him fed and eating a little more. Get him in that weight program and beef him up a bit.”
Currently listed at 6-foot and weighing 155 pounds, Preston has some work to do in what will likely be a redshirt season. He missed a good part of fall camp banged up. However, Swinney is excited about his potential.
“He’s a really neat young man, and y’all are in for a treat when you watch this guy,” Swinney said. “He’s exactly what we are looking for. He can play multiple positions, and the fact that he (came) during the middle of the year is huge.”
Preston will kick off his freshman season with the fourth-ranked Tigers against No. 9 LSU on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m., at Memorial Stadium.
