This weekend’s preseason games were critical for those battling to make NFL rosters. A former Clemson WRU member had a strong performance Saturday.

Cornell Powell was signed by the Houston Texans days before Saturday’s preseason game. Powell seized the opportunity to make his case for making the 53-man roster with the Texans.

The former XFL standout led the Texans with six receptions for 63 yards.

Powell made his case for a return to the NFL with a strong XFL season where he caught seven touchdowns.
