CLEMSON — Eighth-ranked Clemson will be without one of its star players when the Tigers host Troy today at 3:30 p.m., at Memorial Stadium.
Clemson safety Khalil Barnes will not play, as he nurses a hamstring he re-aggravated in last week’s loss to LSU. Though he did not start last week, Barnes came in early and played in the first and second quarter against LSU.
Barnes re-aggravated his hamstring in the second quarter and missed the rest of the game. Earlier this week, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said Barnes was in practice this week, but did not do much.
Barnes came out with the team in pre-game warmups, but he is wearing sneakers instead cleats.
Swinney will have an update in the post-game press conference after the game on Barnes’ status for this coming week.
