A former Clemson standout is back with this NFL team.

The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday they have signed former Tiger defensive end K.J. Henry to their practice squad.

Last month, Henry was waived by the Browns on Aug. 24 ahead of the NFL’s 53-man roster cutdown deadline, after they had claimed him off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles on July 23.

Henry was originally drafted by the Washington Commanders in the fifth round (No. 137 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft.

After stints with the Commanders (2023), Cincinnati Bengals (2024) and Dallas Cowboys (2024), Henry signed to the Eagles’ practice squad last November and earned a championship ring with the Eagles’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

In 14 career NFL games (three starts), Henry has recorded 22 career tackles, five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Last season, he tallied three tackles, one tackle for loss and a sack in four games.

He played six seasons at Clemson from 2018-22, collecting 147 career tackles (28.0 for loss), 13.5 sacks, 11 pass breakups, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles over 58 career games (24 starts).

Henry was a true freshman on Clemson’s 2018 national championship team. With the Eagles’ win in Super Bowl LIX, he joined joined Justyn Ross, Cornell Powell, Tremayne Anchrum Jr., Dan Benish, K.D. Dunn, Andy Headen, Terry Kinard, Dorian O’Daniel and William Perry among Clemson players to earn both a national championship ring and a Super Bowl ring.
