CLEMSON — Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney spoke to the media following practice on Wednesday. It’s the last time he will address the media before the 12th-ranked Tigers take on Georgia Tech Saturday (noon, ESPN) at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta.
Here are a few notes from Wednesday’s conference call with the media:
–Swinney was asked about the general health of his team heading into Saturday’s game. He said they are in pretty good shape. He said, “We got who we got and we will see where we are tomorrow.” Clemson will release an injury report, per a new ACC rule, on Thursday.
–Swinney was also asked about his backup running backs and how the coaches can get them worked into the game. “Just more plays. More in sync and less three-and-outs. They will get their opportunities. Like I said, we will start with Adam (Randall) and then go from there.”
–Swinney was later asked about Bryant Wesco returning punts for the injured Antonio Williams. “We just trust him. He is a guy that is a good decision maker and obviously, he can run with it. So, we got T.J. (Moore) who is another guy we trust. We got Cole (Turner) is a guy we trust. Tink (Kelley) is a guy that we can put back there. So we have a good group of corps guys that have earned our trust, but Wesco is the next man up.”
