Swinney Gives Injury Update on Sophomore OL

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media Tuesday morning ahead of Saturday’s game against Syracuse.

Swinney gave an injury update on sophomore offensive lineman Elyjah Thurmon (concussion), confirming he was injured in practice leading up to last Saturday’s game at Georgia Tech.

Swinney was asked what Thurmon’s status is.

“Day-to-day,” Swinney said. “We’ll release a status report on Thursday on all these guys.”

Per ACC rules for 2025, teams are required to release an injury report every Thursday and Friday this season.

Prior to missing the Georgia Tech game, Thurmon played 28 snaps in the season opener against LSU and then played 51 snaps as Clemson produced both a 100-yard rusher (Adam Randall) and 100-yard receiver (Bryant Wesco Jr.) vs. Troy.

A Mississippi native who finished his prep career in Georgia before signing with the Tigers in 2024, Thurmon entered this season after previously playing 146 snaps from scrimmage over eight games (one start) as a freshman in 2024.

Saturday’s game against Syracuse at Death Valley is set to kick off at noon and will be televised on ESPN.
