Another former Clemson player called out the coaching staff during Saturday’s game against Syracuse.
Former Tiger wide receiver Amari Rodgers took to social media with the following post:
Rodgers was presumably referring to the play where Clemson safety Ricardo Jones got beat on the 22-yard touchdown pass from Syracuse quarterback Steve Angeli to Darrell Gill Jr. at the 9:13 mark of the second quarter, giving the Orange a 24-7 lead. You can see that play here.
A third-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in the 2021 NFL Draft and former All-ACC performer at Clemson, Rodgers has had NFL stints with the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts along with the Packers. He has most recently played for the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL.
Rodgers was a key figure in Clemson’s four straight College Football Playoff berths from 2017-20 and national championship in 2018. He concluded his Tiger career with 181 receptions for 2,144 yards and 15 receiving touchdowns over 55 career games (37 starts), while also recording 68 career punt returns for 529 yards (7.8 avg.) including a punt return touchdown.
