Could Clemson’s Current Class Experience Another Mass Exodus?

Many fans still haven’t gotten over what happened to Clemson’s 2025 recruiting class.

The Tigers were the victims of seven total decommitments in the last recruiting cycle, with six of those coming after June officials.

With four-star Dre Quinn decommitting last week and Clemson in the midst of a dreadful 1-3 start, fans are starting to worry they are going to see a repeat of what happened a year ago. While there are no guarantees, and there certainly could be more to come, as we sit here today, I think the bulk of this class stays together.

Although if the team continues to slide and shows no signs of improvement, that could certainly change things, especially if Dabo Swinney were to decide to make some changes to his coaching staff following the season. For example, if Garrett Riley were to move on for whatever reason, would that impact four-star QB Tait Reynolds?

One player worth keeping an eye on is four-star safety Blake Stewart. Miami has continued to recruit Stewart hard, even after he committed to Clemson back in July, and he has not shut down the communication.

Three-star corner Shavar Young is another commit worth keeping at least one eye on. Not necessarily because he’s on the verge of flipping, or that he’s even flirting with anyone at this point, but just because he’s been open to flirtations in the past.

Young publicly said he was shutting his recruitment down back in August after rumors of a potential flip to SMU were making the rounds.

Outside of that, most of these guys seem to be locked in. The six offensive linemen Matt Luke has on board don’t appear to be wavering. And that is still considered to be the best class of offensive linemen in the country.

Obviously, no one has a crystal ball to predict the future, but as things stand here at the end of September, the Tigers appear to be in better shape class-wise than they were this time last year.
