Clemson Opens as Substantial Favorite Over SMU

After back-to-back road wins, Clemson will return to Death Valley this weekend.

The Tigers (3-3, 2-2 ACC) will play host to SMU (4-2, 2-0) on Saturday, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.

In what will be just the second-ever meeting between the two schools, Clemson has opened as a 10.5-point favorite, per FanDuel, with an over/under of 55.5. Not long after it opened, the line had already dropped a point to Clemson -9.5.

Dabo Swinney’s team comes in fresh off a 41-10 dismantling of Boston College, while SMU disposed of Stanford at home 34-10.

The Tigers won the first-ever meeting between the two teams with a dramatic 34-31 walk-off win over the Mustangs in last season’s ACC Championship Game.

After dropping three of its first four games, Clemson is back to .500 on the season. A win over SMU would give the Tigers a winning record for the first time this season.
