Top In-State RB Returning to Clemson

A fast-rising running back is set to be back at Clemson soon.

2028 in-state back Michael Martin II (Christ Church) tells The Clemson Insider that he will be back in Clemson for the Tigers’ matchup against SMU.

“What I am looking forward to on this visit is seeing Coach (C.J.) Spiller and Coach (Andrew) Zow again,” Marin told TCI. “Also seeing the Tigers play and get the W. Most of all, just being back at Clemson for the third time this season. I’m very thankful for them wanting me back again. It really makes me feel like a priority.”

Martin originally planned to visit Duke this weekend, but at the last minute, plans changed, and he will now instead visit Clemson for a third time this season.

Through seven games, Martin has rushed for 954 yards and an eye-popping 18 touchdowns. The talented back is averaging six yards per carry, and he has five games with 100 or more rushing yards. He is averaging 148.3 all-purpose yards per contest.

Martin already holds offers from Syracuse, Duke, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miami, Wake Forest and Texas A&M, among others.

Prep Red Zone ranks him as the top running back in the state in the 2028 recruiting class.
