Erik Bakich is on a heater at Clemson.
The Tigers landed a third commitment in as many days on Tuesday, as two-way in-state talent Griffin McKain (Fort Mill) announced a verbal pledge to Clemson. McKain was at one time committed to rival South Carolina.
The 6-foot-3 OF/1B and LHP gets a grade of 9.5 at Perfect Game and is fresh off a weekend visit to campus.
Last season, McKain hit .421 with one home run and 16 RBI. He had a .596 slugging percentage and 1.115 OPS. He also threw 29 2/3 innings with a 5-0 record, 3.18 ERA and 36 strikeouts. McKain was also recognized as an All-Defensive Team player as an outfielder.
This is the third commitment Bakich has landed in as many days, as McKain joins RHP Gray Davis and CF Vaughan Steinert as players who have joined the 2027 class.
