No Surprise, Clemson Drops in National Outlet’s Rankings

Following its latest loss, Clemson has unsurprisingly dropped in this national outlet’s college football rankings.

After last Saturday’s 35-24 loss to SMU, the Tigers (3-4, 2-3 ACC) now sit at No. 58 in the latest CBS Sports 136 rankings of every team in the FBS.

Clemson was previously No. 52 in the CBS Sports 136 rankings after the win at Boston Carolina in Week 7. The Tigers started the season at No. 4 in the same rankings. They’re now one spot behind UConn at No. 57.

Ohio State remains the No. 1 team in the updated CBS Sports rankings, with Indiana, Texas A&M, Alabama and Oregon rounding out the top five.

Georgia Tech (No. 7) is the highest-ranked ACC team, while Miami (No. 9), Virginia (No. 16) and Louisville (No. 17) are the other three ACC teams in the top 25 of the latest CBS Sports 136.

Clemson is the ninth highest-ranked ACC team, behind Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia, Louisville, SMU (No. 32), Pittsburgh (No. 39), Duke (No. 43) and NC State (No. 51).

Following an open date this weekend, the Tigers return to the field on Saturday, Nov. 1 against Duke at Memorial Stadium (noon, ACC Network).
