Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media on Wednesday evening, his final media availability before Saturday’s game vs. Duke.
Swinney gave the latest on starting quarterback Cade Klubnik, who, of course, did not play in the Tigers’ most recent game – the 35-24 loss to SMU on Oct. 18 — snapping his 34-game starting streak.
The senior signal caller sprained an ankle late in the third quarter of the win at Boston College on Oct. 11, an injury that does not require surgery.
On Wednesday evening, Swinney was asked how much Klubnik has been able to practice the last two days.
“A good amount,” Swinney said.
“He’s getting better each day. I’m proud of him,” Swinney added. “Again, we’ll put out a report tomorrow night. But he’s had a good week.”
Per ACC rules for 2025, teams are required to release an injury report every Thursday and Friday this season.
Over the first six games this season, Klubnik completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 1,530 yards and 11 touchdown passes with five interceptions, while also rushing 104 yards and two more scores.
Following this past weekend’s open date, the Tigers (3-4, 2-3 ACC) return to the field on Saturday to host Duke at Memorial Stadium (noon, ACC Network).
