Swinney Updates Sewell Injury

CLEMSON — Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney gave an injury update on right guard Harris Sewell, who left Saturday’s 46-45 loss to Duke in the second quarter.

The junior did not return and was seen wearing a neck brace on the sidelines in the second half. Veteran Walker Parks was inserted in his place and finished out the game.

Swinney said after the game they do not have any updates on Sewell at this time. He will be evaluated on Sunday.

Sewell has started six of the eight games this season for the Tigers and has logged more than 370 snaps on the season. The right guard is just another in a long list of offensive linemen that have been hurt this year for the Tigers.

Fellow guard Elyjah Thurmon has missed five games this season, including Saturday’s. Left tackle Tristian Leigh has been banged up all season and has missed three games, though he did start and finish the Duke game. Left guard Collin Sadler missed Saturday’s game with a foot injury and guard Walker Parks has also missed a good portion of the season due to several injuries.

Parks played just one snap in the Boston College and SMU games.
