After its latest loss, Clemson slid down a half dozen spots in this national outlet’s college football rankings.
Coming off last weekend’s 46-45 loss vs. Duke, the Tigers (3-5, 2-4 ACC) now sit at No. 59 in the latest CBS Sports 136 rankings of every team in the FBS.
Clemson was previously No. 53 in the CBS Sports 136 rankings after starting the season at No. 4 in the same rankings. The Tigers are now one spot behind New Mexico at No. 58, and one spot ahead of Fresno State at No. 60.
Clemson is set to host Florida State on Saturday at Memorial Stadium (7 p.m., ACC Network). The Seminoles (4-4, 1-4 ACC) jumped up 11 spots to No. 50 in the latest CBS Sports 136 following last weekend’s blowout 42-7 win over Wake Forest.
Virginia (No. 12) is the highest-ranked ACC team, while Louisville (No. 14), Georgia Tech (No. 15) and Miami (No. 18) are the other ACC teams in the top 25 of the updated CBS Sports 136.
Clemson is the 11th highest-ranked ACC team, behind Virginia, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Miami, Pitt (No. 27), SMU (No. 35), Duke (No. 39), NC State (No. 47), Florida State (No. 50) and Wake Forest (No. 55).
