Tigers Extend Lead On Paladins

CLEMSON – The Clemson Tigers extended their lead over the Furman Paladins 10-3 with a 22-yard pass to the center of Memorial Stadium’s west end zone from quarterback Cade Klubnik to Antonio Williams.

The scoring drive started, as well as ended, with Williams, who returned a Paladins’ 30 yards to give the Tigers prime field position before Klubnik even touched the ball.

After a long pass on third down was ruled incomplete, the Tigers (5-5, 4-4 ACC) responded with a 12-yard pass to tight end Olsen Patt-Henry to put Clemson deep in Furman territory. Patt-Henry was hurt on the play and went to the tent shortly after.

Klubnik inched the Tigers closer with a four-yard rush to the Paladins’ 22-yard line.

The final pass to Williams sealed the first touchdown of the day for Clemson, whose defense turned around and forced a stop. The drive lasted just over three minutes and 41 yards. On senior day, two seniors in Klubnik and Williams are off to a strong start.
