Williams Shines on Senior Day, Makes Clemson History

Antonio Williams had himself quite a day on his senior day Saturday against Furman.

The star Clemson wide receiver also made some school history in the process.

Williams tallied 94 all-purpose yards — 57 receiving, 37 punt return — and two touchdowns as he shined while helping the Tigers (6-5) to a 45-10 victory over the Paladins (6-6) at Memorial Stadium.

Williams had two receptions, and both went for touchdowns. He scored Clemson’s first touchdown of the game on a 22-yard reception thrown by quarterback Cade Klubnik with 8:34 left in the first quarter, giving the Tigers an early 10-0 lead.

Then, early in the second quarter, the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder added a 35-yard touchdown grab on another pass from Klubnik to extend Clemson’s advantage to 24-0.

On his 22-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter, Williams became the fifth player in Clemson history to catch 200 career passes. He joined Artavis Scott (245 from 2014-16), Sammy Watkins (240 from 2011-13), Aaron Kelly (232 from 2005-08) and DeAndre Hopkins (206 from 2010-12).

Williams’ first touchdown catch in Saturday’s game also marked his 20th career receiving touchdown. With that, he became the eighth player in Clemson history with 20 career touchdown receptions.

Playing in his final career home game, Williams’ 30-yard punt return — Clemson’s longest of the season — set up his first touchdown.

As for this season overall, Williams came into Saturday’s game with 46 catches for 481 yards and two touchdowns, as well as 12 carries for 69 yards and another score on the ground. He also threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Moore on Clemson’s first play from scrimmage at North Carolina on Oct. 4.

The Irmo, S.C., native entered the 2025 campaign credited with 1,732 yards and 17 touchdowns on 153 receptions and 12 rushes for 109 yards and a touchdown over 33 games (28 starts) across his first three seasons from 2022-24. Entering this season, he was also 3-for-3 passing for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Williams and the Tigers will return to action next Saturday against rival South Carolina. Kickoff at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia is set for noon on SEC Network.
