Swinney Shows Love to Clemson Fans After Home Finale

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney showed plenty of love to Tiger fans following the team’s home finale on Saturday.

During his postgame press conference after Clemson’s 45-10 win over Furman at Memorial Stadium, Swinney made sure to let the fans know that he appreciates them.

“I just appreciate our fans, because they’ve shown up all year for us and given us an amazing environment,” Swinney said.

Clemson finished this season with a losing record at home (3-4) for the first time since 1998. However, they won their final two home games against Florida State on Nov. 8 and then against Furman on Saturday after starting the season 1-4 at home.

“Happy for our fans to be able to finish up the season with a couple wins in a row. … I appreciate our fans,” Swinney said.

Saturday marked the final home game in Swinney’s 23rd season at Clemson, including his time as an assistant coach (starting in 2003) and as the head coach (since 2008, officially in 2009).

“This is my 23rd home season coming to an end today,” Swinney said. “So, 23 years of battling out there in The Valley in a lot of games, and I’m just grateful for all of it. The big wins, the painful moments – I’m grateful for all of it. Because it really is just a special place to do something that you love to do – play, coach, whatever it is. … It just never gets old. I’m just thankful. It goes fast.”

After starting the season with a 3-5 record, Clemson has reeled off three consecutive wins to become bowl eligible for a 27th consecutive season.

After concluding their 2025 home schedule, the Tigers head to Columbia, S.C., to take on rival South Carolina this Saturday. Kickoff for the annual rivalry game is set for noon on the SEC Network.
