Clemson Makes Initial Cut for Priority Target

One of Clemson’s top offensive line targets has trimmed his list down to less than a dozen.

Four-star Carter Jones (Poquoson, VA) released his Top 10 late Thursday, with Clemson, Tennessee, Ohio State, Virginia, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Penn State, Texas and Florida all making the initial cut.

Jones has been a frequent visitor to Clemson over the past 18 months, with the latest coming for the season-opener against LSU.

“That was a great visit,” Jones told The Clemson Insider in September. “I really enjoyed talking Coach (Matt) Luke. I also enjoyed getting to talk with some of the 2026 O-line commits. Getting to hear why they chose Clemson and stuff like that.”

The 6-foot-6, 290-pound lineman picked up his offer back in the summer after working out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. He plans to return to campus for the Elite Retreat the weekend of March 7.

Jones has more than three dozen offers in total, and he ranks No. 220 overall in the 247 Composite Rankings.
