With portal season officially underway, the Clemson coaching staff has been busy conducting its due diligence on potential targets and arranging visits.
The Clemson Insider wanted to provide an update on where things stand with multiple targets the Tigers are pursuing.
TCI has learned through sourcing that Memphis safety Chris Bracy is set to visit this weekend. He could arrive as early as Saturday sometime.
Bracy spent his first two seasons at UAB before transferring to Memphis for the 2025 campaign. The redshirt junior appeared in all 13 games, totaling 81 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and an interception.
Bracy spent two seasons at UAB before transferring to Memphis ahead of last season. The native of Mobile, AL, was a three-star talent coming out of high school.
With the safety being a weak link on the backend of the Tigers’ defense, and Tom Allen losing multiple players to attrition, including starter Khalil Barnes, the position is expected to be a major focal point for the staff over the next couple of weeks. Multiple safeties are likely to be added via the portal.
As previously reported by TCI, Kansas safety Lyric Rawls will visit January 10-11. He started all 12 games for the Jayhawks as a redshirt senior in 2025 and ranked second on the team in total tackles with 73. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder recorded 57 solo tackles and 16 assists on the season, along with 1.0 tackles for loss, one interception and seven pass breakups. Rawls has one season of eligibility left.
TCI is also working to confirm some other names expected to visit over the next few days.
It’s important to remember that portal recruiting is always fluid and things can sometimes change on a moment’s notice, but stay tuned to the site for more updates as we get them.
