Clemson has lost another defensive tackle.
The Clemson Insider was told by sources Sunday morning that redshirt freshman Champ Thompson was planning to enter the transfer portal.
UPDATE: After the original story, another source told TCI Thompson’s name was not in the portal.
TCI was then contacted by someone in the players camp, who said Thompson is not currently entering the portal.
Thompson appeared in eight games as a reserve this season, with his most extensive action coming in the Pinstripe Bowl against Penn State, where he recorded his first career sack.
Thompson signed with the Tigers as a three-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting class. ESPN ranked him as the 19th-best defensive lineman in the class.
