Veteran Linebacker Declares NFL Draft Intentions

Wade Woodaz is saying goodbye to Clemson.

Woodaz has been a mainstay on the Clemson defense the past few years. After appearing in all 14 games as a freshman in 2022, Woodaz started five games as a sophomore. He has been a full-time starter over each of the last two seasons.

“Thank you for believing in me from the moment I arrived on campus,” Woodaz said in a social media post. “Clemson has been a place of growth, high standards and memories I will carry with me forever. This program has not only shaped me as a player, but as a person.”

“To Coach Swinney, thank you for building a program that demands excellence and for trusting me to be a part of it. To Coach Allen and Coach Boulware, thank you for your constant guidance, honesty and belief in me. You pushed me very day and helped me grow on and off the field.”

“To my teammates, it’s been an honor to compete alongside you. The bond we’ve built and the moments we’ve shared will always mean more than the wins and losses.”

“With gratitude for this journey and confidence in what lies ahead, I am humbled to announce that I will be declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.”

During his four-year career, Woodaz was credited with 201 tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, four forced fumbles, three pass breakups and three passes defended.
