Clemson Commits Invited to The Opening

Two different Clemson commits have received invites to the prestigious Nike event, The Opening.

This is widely considered one of the nation’s most exclusive events when it comes to high school showcases, with just 100 players receiving invites to each regional.

From the event’s website:

ONLY THE BEST OF THE BEST – THOSE WHO DEMONSTRATE UNMATCHED SKILL, FOOTBALL IQ, AND RELENTLESS DRIVE – WILL EARN THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPETE AT THE REGIONALS.

Four-star linebacker Max Brown (Jefferson, GA) has received an invite to the regionals that are set to be held in Atlanta on March 8. Brown is the younger brother of current Tigers’ linebacker Sammy Brown.

He picked up one of Clemson’s opening offers back in June and committed just days later. Brown suffered a knee injury in the fourth game of the season, costing him the rest of his junior year. He told TCI recently he expects to be fully cleared to return to action sometime this month.

Three-star safety Harrison Luke (N. Oconee, GA) has also received an invite. Luke is the son of current offensive line coach Matt Luke.

Luke also received one of the Tigers’ opening offers, then committed in September.

β€œIt is just different,” Luke told TCI in a previous interview. β€œIt is a special place. Just how they do things. It is just different, that is how I would describe it.”
