Clemson Flips Big JUCO Prospect

CLEMSON — Clemson has added another big piece to the roster.

The Tigers have flipped Iowa Western Community College JUCO DT Andy Burburija from Nebraska.

The 6-foot-2, 295-pounder emerged as a Clemson target early on after the portal window opened. He visited campus more than a week ago, before taking a visit to Nebraska. He then committed to the Cornhuskers.

Burburija originally signed with Kansas State, but was released from his National Letter of Intent after head coach Chris Klieman stepped down.

He spent the first two seasons of his career at Iowa Western. In 2025, he was a first-team All-American, while registering 45 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and one forced fumble. Being a JUCO prospect means he won’t sign until the February signing period.

247Sports ranks the 6-foot-2, 295-pound player as the sixth-best JUCO defensive lineman in the class.

With the news of transfer linebacker Luke Ferrelli planning to re-enter the portal and head to Ole Miss, the Tigers needed some good news, and now they have it. The staff has already landed two defensive tackles from the portal in Markus Strong and Kourtney Kelly, and never stopped attempting to add a third.

Clemson is now back to 10 portal commitments. Despite Burburija being a JUCO player, his reps told The Clemson Insider he was entered into the portal.
