Latest On Priority WR Target

With the contact period wrapping up this weekend, members of the Clemson coaching staff finished up their visits with high school recruits this week.

One of Dabo Swinney’s final stops was at Amos P. Godby down in Florida to check in on four-star receiver target Jamarin Simmons. Assistant Tyler Grisham accompanied the head coach.

Simmons was the first 2027 wideout to pick up an offer from the Tigers, securing one last June after working out at camp. He is still just one of two uncommitted receivers to hold an offer from Clemson. Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Ole Miss are a few of the other schools to have offered.

Simmons returned to campus for the season opener against LSU last season, and the 5-foot-11 wideout already confirmed that he will attend the Elite Retreat on March 7.

The Tigers already hold a commitment from four-star in-state WR Trey Wimbley, who reclassified to the 2027 class. Four-star DJ Huggins is the other uncommitted target. He is also expected to attend the Elite Retreat.

As a junior, Simmons reeled in 59 catches for 932 yards with 14 touchdowns. He also went 2-of-2 passing for 120 yards with one touchdown throw.

247 ranks Simmons No. 64 overall, No. 9 among all wide receivers and No. 7 in the state of Florida.
