CLEMSON — The Clemson Baseball team will be heading back out to Texas next year.
After opening the season by playing in the Shriners Children’s College Showdown at Globe Life Field last season, the Tigers will be heading back to Arlington in 2027.
“We’re going to Globe Life again next year,” Bakich revealed on Tuesday. “We set that up years ago.”
Clemson opened the 2025 campaign by knocking off Oklahoma State and Arizona in back-to-back days, before falling to Ole Miss in the finale on Sunday.
Both the Cowboys and the Wildcats opened the season in the Top 15 of the rankings, giving Bakich’s team a strong test early on. Arizona would go on to play in the College World Series last season, while Ole Miss earned a Top 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament and hosted a regional.
“It just kind of happened that we went last year, opening up at home this year, and going there next year,” Bakich said. “We like to challenge ourselves early, and we challenged ourselves last year with some really good competition. Some Omaha teams.”
This season, Clemson opens up at home with a three-game series against Army, which begins on Friday. First pitch is at 4 p.m. with ace Aidan Knaak expected to get the start.
