Corri Hicks drove in four runs to help lead No. 18 Clemson to a 7-0 shutout win on Friday night in Day 2 of the States Up! Invitational in San Marcos, Texas.
Keira Crosby went the distance in the circle for the Tigers (4-4), holding the Cougars to just three hits while striking out three in picking up her first victory of the season.
Hicks went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI, while Kiley Channell finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Clemson jumped on BYU (1-7) early, taking a 4-0 lead in the top of the first. Hicks had a two-run hit, while Marian Collins and Macey Cintron also each drove in a run in the frame.
Hicks added an RBI double in the third before Sam Minish had a sacrifice fly that extended the lead to 6-0.
Hicks drove in another run in the seventh on a fielder’s choice.
