Clemson QB Commit Gets Ratings Bump

Clemson’s lone quarterback commit in the 2027 class got a ratings bump on Monday.

Four-star Kharim Hughley (Gainesville, GA) moved to No. 136 overall in the updated Rivals recruiting rankings. He is now ranked as the 13th-best quarterback in the class, moving up three spots. Hughley recently competed at a Rivals Elite Camp in Miami.

Four-star LSU commit Peyton Houston, who picked up Clemson’s first QB offer of the 2027 class, ranks one spot behind Hughley. Houston fell eight spots in the QB rankings.

Three-star Trent Seaborn, who was another QB with a Clemson offer, comes in at No. 23, falling six spots.

Hughley committed to Clemson last summer, just days after picking up his offer. He visited for every home game last season and will be back on campus for the Elite Retreat on March 7. The event will provide Hughley his first opportunity to meet new offensive coordinator Chad Morris in person.

“I have 100% trust in Coach Dabo (Swiney) and the decisions he makes,” Hughley recently told TCI. “We have communicated through text, and we had a FaceTime call, but I will meet him soon. It is a little different when you meet somebody in person.”

As a junior, Hughley helped guide his high school team to an appearance in the 5A state title game in Georgia. While they fell short of winning it all, Hughley was a big part of the success that led to a 12-win season, throwing for 2,456 yards with 33 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 379 yards with eight more scores via his legs.
