Four-star linebacker Roman Igwebuike of Mount Carmel High School in Illinois is among the more than 30 uncommitted recruits who are expected to be on hand for the Clemson Elite Retreat this weekend.
The Clemson Insider reported that Igwebuike would be on hand for the event, and that while the Tigers had yet to offer, that would likely changes once he visits, seeing as the board is in the process of being expanded.
Indeed, that is the case, as Igwebuike announced an offer from the Tigers on Friday.
Igwebuike is one of the top linebackers in the 2027 class and already owns more than 40 offers. Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia, Miami, Texas, Tennessee, Southern Cal, Indiana and Oregon are just a few of the schools to have already offered.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect had a monster junior season that saw him help lead his team to a state title. He finished with a team-high 115 tackles, while adding 13.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and three pass breakups.
Igwebuike is the No. 147 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to the 247 Sports Composite, which touts him as the No. 11 linebacker in the country for his class.
