CLEMSON — Tryston McCladdie hit two home runs, including the go-ahead shot in the bottom of the seventh, as Clemson beat Miami 7-6 on Friday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, snapping a five-game losing streak.

Danny Nelson pitched two innings to pick up his first career win (1-2). The freshman held the Canes to one run on three hits while striking out three. Freshman Eston Simpson also threw two innings of relief, allowing one run on two hits. Justin LeGuernic pitched the ninth to notch his first save.

The Tigers quickly tied it back up in the bottom half of the frame. Dillard reached second on a dropped pop-up to get things started. Ty Dalley followed with a single. Miami tied it back up in the seventh. Dylan Dubovik left off with a single off Eston Simpson. Danny Nelson then came in out of the pen, and Fabio Peralta doubled into the left field corner, putting runners at second and third.
