TCI Recruiting Roundup: Latest Notes from Trail

With spring practice all wrapped up at Clemson and the Elite Retreat in the rear view mirror, all eyes now turn towards official visits. However, before that comes the contact period that begins on April 15, when coaches will once again be out on the road.

The Tigers will host their big official visit weekend from May 29-31, then hold a second one from June 12-14.

One player who will be at the first weekend is four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole. The blue-chip talent notched his offer after attending the Elite Retreat, and on Thursday, he included Clemson among his list of six finalists. LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Florida State and Tennessee also made the cut.

Every recruiting service considers Poole a Top 80 talent and as one of the Top 5 safeties in the nation.

Three-star wideout Taurean Rawlins was on hand for the spring game. It was his first time visiting.

While Clemson has yet to offer, Rawlins has already locked in plans to give Clemson an official during that second weekend, June 12-14. He is fresh off a visit to Georgia Tech.

The 6-foot prospect had more than 1,100 receiving yards as a junior with 13 touchdowns.

Rawlins currently holds offers from South Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin and Vanderbilt, among others.

Four-star OL target Jimmy Kalis made his return to Clemson for the spring game. Back in February, the 6-foot-8, 285-pounder released his list of six finalists that included Clemson, LSU, Miami, Texas, Ohio State and Georgia.

After making a stop in Clemson over the weekend, the blue-chip talent headed to Columbus for a visit to Ohio State. Last week he visited Georgia.

Kalis picked up one of the Tigers’ opening offers back in June and was the first offensive lineman in the 2027 class to go public with an offer.

Three-star DL Marquis Evans picked up an offer from Clemson earlier this week. He is a former teammate of freshman quarterback Brock Bradley at Spain Park in Alabama.

Evans now has close to 30 offers, including Miami, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Texas and Ole Miss.
