TN Wideout Scheduled for Clemson Official Commits Elsewhere

Sometimes recruiting moves fast.

Shortly after attending the Clemson spring game and locking in an official visit with the Tigers, 2027 wideout Dayon Cooper committed to Florida State after an unofficial visit to Tallahassee. The Seminoles have been considered the favorite to land him.

Despite not having an offer, Cooper was planning to take an official to Clemson June 12-14. He told TCI that visit is off.

“They told me it is a process,” Cooper told TCI after the spring game. “They don’t just give out offers to anybody. They want to go through the whole process. They want you to be on campus. Test your character and everything.”

Cooper, out of South Pitt in Tennessee, is a former teammate of summer enrollee JR Hardrick. Tennessee, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M were some of the other schools recruiting the 6-foot-1 receiver.
