A local player in the transfer portal has reportedly heard from Clemson.
The Tigers have been in contact with Monmouth guard Justin Ray, according to Tim Thomas of The Tech Lunch Pail.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder hails from Greer, S.C. He has played in 66 games for Monmouth over the past two seasons.
Ray started 21 games for the Hawks during the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 11.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 28.4 minutes per game. He shot 43.9 percent from the floor and an impressive 42.0 percent from 3 (66-of-157).
As a freshman in 2024-25, Ray played in 32 games, averaging 8.6 minutes per game off the bench, while recording 3.4 points and 0.6 rebounds per game.
Ray attended Eastside High School, where he scored a school-record 1,810 points and was a four-time selection for All-State.
