Hornets Provide Injury Update on PJ Hall

On Thursday afternoon, the Charlotte Hornets provided an injury update on former Clemson star big man PJ Hall.

The Hornets announced that Hall underwent a procedure to address a right ankle fracture, and he will be out for the rest of the 2025-26 season.

Hall sustained the injury while playing for the Greensboro Swarm during the first round of the G League Playoffs.

In 12 games for Charlotte this season (two starts), Hall averaged 6.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field in 15.6 minutes per game.

Hall’s most recent NBA action came back on Feb. 22. The 24-year-old center shined while playing in 32 G League games with the Swarm, averaging 17.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 blocks in 28.9 minutes per contest en route to an All-NBA G League Third Team selection.

Hall signed a two-way contract with the Hornets on Dec. 23, 2025. A second-year pro, he was previously with the Memphis Grizzlies on a two-way contract earlier this season prior to being waived on Nov. 16.

Hall was not drafted in 2024 but instead signed a two-way contract with Denver. He was released by the Nuggets in June 2025.

Hall has appeared in 38 NBA games over two seasons, including 19 with Denver in 2024-25, seven with the Grizzlies this season and his 12 with the Hornets this season.

Hall became just the 14th player in Clemson men’s basketball history to earn first-team All-ACC honors in 2023-24. The Spartanburg, S.C. native and Dorman High School product averaged 18.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game that season, on his way to Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention honors. His 659 points set the school record for points in a season. Hall finished his career in the top 10 of Clemson’s all-time scoring list (1,702 points).
