The contact period is in full swing and that means members of the Clemson coaching staff are on the road recruiting.
Not only are coaches touching base with targets still on the board, but they are also checking in on committed prospects, seeing as a big part of recruiting these days is making sure the committed guys stay that way.
With that in mind, offensive coordinator Chad Morris and quarterbacks coach Tajh Boyd did an in-home with quarterback commit Kharim Hughley (Gainesville, GA). The four-star signal caller has been committed since last July, and seeing as Hughley is one of the top quarterback prospects in the class, keeping him locked in is of the utmost importance.
As a junior, Hughley helped guide his high school team to an appearance in the 5A state title game in Georgia. While they fell short of winning it all, Hughley was a big part of the success that led to a 12-win season, throwing for 2,456 yards with 33 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 379 yards with eight more scores via his legs.
ESPN ranks Hughley as the fifth-best quarterback in the class and No. 124 overall.
Wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham was in to see four-star wideout Lawrence Britt (Lausanne School, TN) on Wednesday.
Britt made his first visit to Clemson for the Elite Retreat in March and left with an offer in tow. He is one of four wide receivers set to attend the big official visit weekend, May 29-31. Missouri, Florida, Ole Miss and Texas Tech are also scheduled to get officials.
The 6-foot-1 wideout did a little bit of everything for his high school team in 2025, logging snaps at multiple positions. He finished with 696 receiving yards and 299 rushing yards, while catching 12 touchdown passes and rushing for five scores.
