Former 5-Star Clemson Signee Finds New Home

A former five-star Clemson women’s basketball signee has found her new college home.

Trinity Jones announced Thursday she has committed to Maryland.

Jones was released from her National Letter of Intent in early April and reopened her recruiting.

Widely considered one of the top players in the country, regardless of position, Jones committed to Clemson back in October, before officially signing in November. She was the highest-ranked commit for Clemson since 2008. The 6-foot-1 McDonald’s All-American was a central figure in the Tigers’ 2026 class and was expected to be a part of the foundation of Shawn Poppie’s program over the next few years.

Rivals ranked her as the No. 7 overall prospect nationally and the No. 2 shooting guard in the 2026 class. LSU, Tennessee and UCLA were other finalists when she committed to Clemson back in October.

Jones attended Naperville High School in Illinois, where she averaged 28.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 2.3 assists per game as a senior.
