Newest OL Offer Says Clemson Has ‘Different Feel’

Clemson played host to a new recruiting target over the weekend.

Four-star offensive lineman Jason “JJ” Brown (Parkview, GA) was in for an unofficial visit on Saturday, and after it was over, the 6-foot-6, 305-pounder was the newest recipient of an offer from the Tigers.

“I started hearing from Clemson more recently through Coach (Matt) Luke and Coach (Carson) Cramer,” Brown told The Clemson Insider. “I was just at Clemson (Saturday), so getting back on campus and spending time around the program was big for me.”

It was an offer Brown was more than pleased to add to his list.

“Knowing how selective Clemson is, the offer meant a lot,” he said. “It was a blessing and showed they believe in me.”

Brown now has close to 20 offers, with Georgia, Pitt, Auburn and Kentucky being the schools that have been set to get officials. Florida State, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Michigan have all offered as well. Brown has visited Athens several times now, with the most recent coming for the Dawgs’ spring game on April 18.

However, after picking up the offer from the Tigers, Brown is considering adding Clemson to the slate.

“Clemson is definitely in the mix for an official visit,” Brown said. “We’re working through that now.”

And the culture Dabo Swinney has built inside the program is a big part of what stands out.

“The culture, development, and the consistency of the program,” Brown added. “Clemson has a different feel to it.”

Brown, who is ranked as one of the Top 20 tackles in the class, also noted that he’s in no rush to make any decisions, but when that time does come, there are certain attributes he’s looking for in a school.

“Biggest things for me are development, relationships with coaches, culture, and finding the best fit on and off the field.”
