Clemson Picks Up New Transfer Commitment

The Clemson women’s basketball program has picked up another standout player from the transfer portal.

Saint Mary’s transfer forward Edie Clarke, a rising junior, announced a commitment to the Tigers on Tuesday.

A native of Melbourne, Australia, Clarke averaged 7.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.9 blocks in 24.1 minutes per game over 32 contests (29 starts) as a sophomore this past season. She led the team in rebounds, steals and blocks per game, while shooting a team-best 51.2 percent from the field.

As a true freshman the year before, the 6-foot-4 Clarke played in 30 games and made 10 starts. She averaged 12.7 minutes, 3.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while leading the team in shooting 55 percent from the field. She also shot 78 percent from the free throw line and tied for the team lead with 19 blocks that year.

Prior to her time at Saint Mary’s, Clarke played her prep ball at Geelong Victoria and won three Victorian Championships. She was a two-time National Junior Championship gold medalist and was named Victoria Championship Grand National MVP.
