Big Summer On Tap for Brother of Clemson OL

CHARLOTTE — Quinn Jacobs has visited Clemson several times now.

With his older brother, Brayden, a rising sophomore currently on the football team, the 2028 three-star defensive end has grown quite familiar with the program. His father, Brandon Jacobs, had a long, successful career in the NFL, so the younger Jacobs knows exactly what success on the gridiron looks like.

At the same time, with his father and older sibling both having that kind of pedigree, Jacobs does feel some pressure when it comes to living up to expectations. However, he’s very confident that he’s going to experience a similar level of success.

“Just grinding and working,” Jacobs told The Clemson Insider after competing at the UA Next Camp in Charlotte on Sunday. “Because I know one day I am going to be on the same caliber as them.”

Jacobs was last on campus for the spring game in March and plans to be back for camp next month. When Clemson starts handing out offers to players in his class in a few weeks, the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is hoping to land one.

“It would mean a lot to me,” Jacobs said. “I know how they choose their guys precisely. They only choose guys that they see a future with. They can help you become a better football player and a better man.”

Jacobs is also planning to hit several other camps, including Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and Kentucky. The Wildcats have offered, as has Wake Forest. Expect that list to grow throughout the summer.

All he’s looking for is an opportunity and if that means having to line up across from his older brother one day, even better. Whether that means on the practice field or on an opposing defense.

“That would be so awesome,” Jacobs said. “Because one, I would be in college. A dream come true. Go to college for free to play football, the sport I love. And the other thing, playing against someone like my brother, who I grew up with my entire life.”
